The Encounter, Merger and Assimilation of the Shadow; Quincy, Ma; 2013.
These are the first three images from my new series ‘Isolated Landscapes’. They are portrait & portrait moments influenced by reoccurring dreams, reconstructed through Carl Jung’s archetypes.
Aesthetically, I’m pulling my inspiration from Thomas Cole and other Hudson River School painters as well Romanticism pieces by Turner, Delacroix and in particular Goya’s black paintings.
This entire series gives me a chance to explore image construction with a painterly palette, capture beautiful qualities of the landscape and to bring a stronger narrative relationship to my subject and their environment.
